The Compatriot members of the Frontier Patriots Chapter of the Pennsylvania Society, SAR welcome you to this webpage.

Originally chartered as the Blair County Chapter, the name of the Blair County Chapter was officially changed to the Frontier Patriots Chapter by a majority vote of its Compatriot members on Saturday, 25 August 2007.

The Frontier Patriots Chapter is based in Blair County, Pennsylvania, but it's scope is much greater than simply the one, single county. The Frontier Patriots Chapter represents a substantial portion of the region that had been erected as Bedford County in the year 1771. The present-day counties of Bedford, Blair, Fulton and Huntingdon are included in the region encompassed by the Frontier Patriots Chapter. (The remainder of the region that was part of Old-Bedford County, which includes the present-day counties of Cambria and Somerset, is represented by the Somerset-Cambria Chapter.) And in the year 2000, the Susquehanna Chapter (primarily representing Clearfield County) was dissolved, and some of its members were accepted into the Blair County (now Frontier Patriots) Chapter.

The Frontier Patriots Chapter is comprised of SAR Compatriots from not only this south-central Pennsylvania region, but also from various points throughout Pennsylvania and the rest of the United States. The Chapter's membership currently stands at forty-four.

Membership in the Frontier Patriots Chapter is open to any eligible SAR applicant. We extend a special welcome to any prospective members who trace ancestry to this region of Old-Bedford County. If your American Revolutionary War ancestor was from this region, the information contained in these pages may be of particular interest to you.
